Blepharoplasty
What Is A Blepharoplasty?
Blepharoplasty, commonly referred to as eyelid surgery, is a procedure designed to restore a refreshed, rested appearance to the eyes by addressing excess skin, muscle laxity, and, when appropriate, protruding or displaced fat in the upper and/or lower eyelids.
Because the eyes play a central role in facial expression, even subtle changes in the eyelids can significantly impact how alert, youthful, and well-rested a person appears. Blepharoplasty is highly customizable and may be performed alone or in combination with other facial procedures to achieve balanced, natural-looking rejuvenation.
Upper vs. Lower Blepharoplasty

Upper Blepharoplasty
- Upper eyelid surgery addresses excess or drooping skin of the upper lids that can create a tired appearance or, in some cases, interfere with vision. The incision is hidden within the natural upper eyelid crease, allowing excess skin to be removed and contour restored while maintaining a natural eyelid shape.
Lower Blepharoplasty
- Lower eyelid surgery focuses on under-eye puffiness, bags, and skin laxity. Depending on anatomy, the incision may be placed just beneath the lower lash line or inside the eyelid (transconjunctival approach). Fat is carefully repositioned or sculpted to smooth the transition between the lower eyelid and cheek, avoiding a hollowed appearance. In select cases, fat transfer may be performed at the same time to restore volume and improve overall harmony in the under-eye and midface region.
Many patients benefit from a combined upper and lower blepharoplasty for comprehensive periorbital rejuvenation.
Will a brow lift make me look surprised or unnatural?
When performed correctly, a brow lift should not create a surprised or over-elevated appearance. The goal is to restore natural brow position and soften heaviness, not to exaggerate expression.
How long do brow lift results last?
Brow lift results are long-lasting. While the aging process continues, patients typically enjoy improvement for many years and often look refreshed well into the future.
Can a brow lift be combined with other procedures?
Yes. Brow lifts are commonly combined with blepharoplasty or facelift surgery to achieve balanced rejuvenation of the upper face.
What type of anesthesia is used?
Brow lift surgery is typically performed under general anesthesia or deep sedation, depending on the extent of surgery and whether additional procedures are performed.
How do I know if a brow lift is right for me?
If heaviness of the brows contributes to a tired or aged appearance and non-surgical treatments are no longer effective, a consultation with Dr. Pasha can help determine whether a brow lift is appropriate.
